New Year, Same You
You don’t need a glow-up. You need a sit-down.
Hi there,
We’ve entered that sparkly, slightly chaotic stretch of December when your inbox suddenly turns into a motivational speaker and part-time stylist. One minute you’re minding your business and the next you’re being urged to buy silk pyjamas, revamp your skincare routine and “crush your 2026 goals”. Personally, the only thing I’m crushing right now is a packet of Hobnobs.
And yet, this pressure to begin January as a shinier, sleeker, more successful version of yourself is everywhere. The “New Year, New You” season is painfully loud. I used to fall for it year in, year out without fail, but in recent years, I’ve found myself resisting it. I sometimes questioned if that resistance meant I was being lazy. That maybe I should want to overhaul my life, reinvent myself completely and spring out of bed at 5am on January 1st with a green juice in one hand and a bullet journal in the other. But I’ve realised over time that the pressure to be a new version of myself every January isn’t inspiring. It’s exhausting. I think most of us are craving something quieter, something real.
Instead of trying to become someone else, what would it look like to remember who we are?
And answering that question is why I’m bringing back Your Best Year Yet.
If you’ve been here a while, you might remember that YBYY was the very first thing I created under the WorkWell banner. And if your 2025 has looked anything like mine - full of highs and heartbreaks, dreams and deadlines, joy and uncertainty - you might be in desperate need of a pause and space to take stock. A way to step into the new year without buying into the myth that everything needs to change.
Your Best Year Yet is a free seven-day challenge that starts on Monday 29th December. It’s designed to help you reflect on the year that’s been and make thoughtful, grounded plans for the one to come. Not just in your career, but across all areas of your life, from friendships and finances to play, purpose and personal growth.
There are no spreadsheets, no shame, and there’s absolutely no pressure to have it all figured out. It’s just a thoughtful workbook, an audio companion and a small invitation each day to reflect on where you’ve been and where you might want to go next.
It’s gentle, honest and actually enjoyable, if I do say so myself! And most importantly, it’s yours. There’s no right or wrong way to use it. Whether you do it each morning with your coffee, scribble in bed with your dog by your side, or catch up in one big reflective binge, the challenge is designed to meet you exactly where you are.
If that sounds like something you need right now, I’d love you to join us. You can read more and sign up for free here. And if you know someone else who could use a moment to breathe, reflect, and reconnect before 2026 begins, please send it their way. It’s open to everyone.
Maybe your best year yet won’t be the one where you do the most. Maybe it’ll be the one where you feel most like yourself.
Until next time,
Dulcie x
Be gentle with yourself.
Work smart, rest well, play more.
And if you can, make space for what really matters.
